| was just about to start the car engine when Zedd rushed out of the building.

He waved atand | lowered the car window.

Zedd rushed over and said with a grin, "Wanda, Theo booked a table at The Imperial. Want to calong?"

The Imperial?

The Imperial Hotel served the rich and noble all year round. They introduced a couple's floor later on and it

becthe favorite dating spot among couples ever since.

| guessed that Theo probably wanted to fix things with me, but | simply could not attend.

When | saw Theo walk out of the building with his countenance still icy-cold, | sighed. "I'm sorry but | really have

things to do right now."

After being rejected the second time, Zedd grew a little upset and no longer had the mood to be courteous with

me.

"Wanda Lane, you don’t know how to appreciate other people's good intentions, do you? Theo has booked a

table in The Imperial. I'm sure you know what that means, right? He has offered you an option but you refuse to

take it. Do you even know how to get along a s a married couple?”

| pursed my lips and thought for a very long tbefore saying, "Mr. Zedd, | appreciate your kindness, but a lot

of things out there aren't as simple as you think. Can you please convey my apologies? | really can't join you.

Also, can you pass along this message t o him? There are too many issues between us and if these issues can't

be solved, there's no way we can keep this marriage."

After a pause, | continued, "In order to solve these issues, we both need tto think about the solution. Hence,

let's give each other tfor a cool-off period.”

Having said that, | raised the window and started the car engine.

| was in a tremendously irritable mood on my way to the airport. | knew that Theo wanted to ease the tension

between us but | did not want to. Perhaps | was really tired at this moment. | was afraid that we would be simply

incompatible no matter how hard we tried. 1

If that was the case, why should | be wasting my time?

My head was a mess, and Theo was in a similar state. What we needed now was stto calm down. It just

so happened that my trip to Salt City this tcould give the two of us just that. When | returned, we would then

discuss whether our marriage was worth keeping or not.

When | arrived at the airport, | picked up my ticket and went to the terminal.

After having my ticket checked and boarding the flight, | took my seat and closed my eyes.

Before | switched off my phone, | saw a few unread messages, all of which were from Theo.

He askedwhere | was going, when | was coming htonight, and whether we should have a proper talk,

stuff like that.

1 did not have the tor mood to text back, so I switched off my phone straight away.

The plane landed at the airport in Salt City at six in the evening. | disembarked the plane and called Heidi.

The call quickly connected and | said in a rush," Where are you, Heidi? I've just gotten off the plane and I'm going

over to you.”

"I'm outside the airport," Heidi said with a smile.

I was stunned.

Heidi said, "I did schecking and figured you'd take this flight, so | cover half an hour ago and waited for

| could not help but think about how reliable she was. | was right about her.

The sky had turned dark. | walked out of the airport and saw Heidi standing across the road from the airport. She

was wrapped in a thick down jacket with a scarf coiled around her neck, covering half of her face. | remembered

that she was afraid of the cold and walked over, saying, "Don’t you think you're a little silly standing out here in

the cold waiting for me?"

She laughed. "It’s not that cold today."

| cast my eyes down and put away the smile on my face. "Takethere."

A complicated expression flashed across Heidi's face." Let's have something to eat first."

| pursed my lips and mulled it over for a very long tbefore nodding.

Honestly, | really wanted to find Jerright this moment to ask him what was going on. | was sure Heidi knew,

but she probably had her reasons for not telling me.
