Chapter 442

After coming back from the washroom, Theo huggedfrom the back and said softly, "I helped you earlier, so

you should at least repay me, right?"

| understood what he was trying to do and panicked." Theo, don't bother entertaining such thoughts. It's already

late at night. | don't want to be late for work tomorrow."

"You don't have to go to work." Theo then placed kisses along my neck as he continued, "But shappy things

must be done.”

Was this something the dignified President Grant would say?

My head started hurting. "You've been busy the whole day and the sgoes for me. Isn't it better for us to just

have a good rest?"

Theo went silent for a moment and lay down. "Wanda Lane, it feels as though you don’t treatas your

husband. If not, why would you hate..."

He did not continue his words but | understood what h e meant and felt fretful in my heart.

Perhaps it was true.

| had no idea when | fell asleep. | dreamt of the scene o

f Nancy committing suicide by jumping off the building and | woke up feeling shocked. | looked outside and it was

still dark. Hence, | knew that | had only slept for a short while.

There was no one beside me. | took the phone from the bedside table and saw that it was just five in the

morning. ‘Why did Theo get up so early?’

| was about to get down from the bed to look for him. A t that moment, Theo pushed the door open and walked

in.

"Why are you awake?” Theo was surprised.

| shook my head. "Where did you go?"

Theo shook his phone. "I went to answer a call."

| pursed my lips and asked him when | thought of what Heidi said in the cafe yesterday, "I guess there's been a

lot of problems recently.”

Theo lowered his eyes. "They're not really considered problems."

| felt a little upset that he did not want to tellabout it.

Theo walked towardand took my feet out from the blanket. "Does your ankle still hurt?"

| shook my head.

"Really?" Theo asked me.

| tilted my head in doubt.

Theo used his fingers and pressed on the bruise on my ankle. It hurt so badly that | pulled my foot out of his

hand. "What are you doing?"

"I thought that you were no longer in pain?" Theo asked faintly.

| opened my mouth, feeling wronged. "Of course, it hurts when you press on it so hard."

Theo smiled coldly and held my foot once again. "Next time, just tellthe truth if you're in pain. What's the

point of pretending in front of me?"

| pursed my lips as | did not know what to say.

He cared about me, so | could only accept it. Besides, | really had nothing to say.
