Chapter 101

Peta kajl Struggling towards the window, her face streaked with tears, “Let me go, Dad, let me die, I

wanna join my baby in death

Dee’t, held up, Shels, don’t do anything stupid

Figin stepped forward, taking Shela from Mark’s grasp. “Whela, don’t cry

“Mr. Ramirez, Sheia leaned into him, I’m useless, just yell at me, it’s all my fault.”

Elgin silently petied her back

He was hurting too, just keeping it under wraps, pain tucked away in his heart

Shela lifted her hand and wiped away the tears, turning her gaze to Letitia Sanders.

Seeing that calculating look in her eyes, Letitia sensed trouble brewing.

Sure as the sun, Shela was about to play the victim card.

“Moving into Ivory Towers was Mr. Ramirez’s idea, he wanted me to take care of the pregnancy, I get

that you’re upset, but… Shela’s eyes welled up, “why did you have to hurt me?”

Me? Hurt you?”

1 saw you miss a step, about to fall down the stairs, and I was trying to be nice, so I helped you. And

what did I get? You grabbed my hand and yanked me down with you! Letitia, I was pregnant! That fall

caused me my baby!”

She knew it. Shela was going to pin it all on her!

Letita quickly defended herself, “I tripped by myself, but, you comered me at the edge! I was falling,

and I didn’t grab you, you reached out for my hand! You’re pregnant, why the heck didn’t you steer

clear of me? Instead, you come at me with this pretense of helping!

Shela, all pitiful, “So now helping you is my fault?”

“You didn’t help me! You fell on me!”

“Mr. Ramirez Shela looked up at Elgin, According to Letitia here, I deliberately fell and caused myself

miscarriage. That’s one hell of an accusation, I can’t carry that cross!”

Letitia was taken aback. She’d spoken too hastily, inadvertently turning the tables on Shela.

Even if that was the case, she shouldn’t have been so blunt in front of Elgin.

Now, Elgin was sure to loathe her even more!

As expected, Elgin’s icy gaze landed on her, “Got anything else up your sleeve besides shifting the

blame? Shela’s child is gone, and you’re pointing fingers at her?

… Letitia clenched her teeth, “If I really wanted to screw over Shela, why would I fall down the stairs

with her, in such a boneheaded way that I’d risk my own skin? I’m pregnant too!”

Such a no-brainer, couldn’t Elgin see that?

She valued her child’s safety above all, she wouldn’t take such a wild risk!

But then, Elgin spoke gravely, “Your child is still okay. Shela’s child is gone.

With that, both Shela and Mark’s eyes widened in shock.

What?! Letitia didn’t miscarry! What in the world was going on!

Could Letitia be that lucky? To go through all that and still keep the baby! That’s just not fair!

“It’s fate, out of anyone’s hands,” Letitia replied, “I almost lost my child too”

Shefs was shaking with rage, pointing at her words failing her. “You, you you.”

After all that effort, Letitia’s kid was still hanging in there!

Mar was beside himself with anger but had to swallow his words.

in the end, Shele stamped her foot and wailed, “This is so damn unfair, Letitia, you kill my baby and

yours gets off scot-free… where’s the jarmor? Why is my life so cursed

said, “The child she’s carrying isn’t mine, don’t overthink it

know you said you never slept with her, and I believe you. Shela sobbed. “But, but her child is still alive!

What am I supposed to dest

riserable, I migh

With that, she suddenly shoved Elgin and flung herself towards the wall.

Mark shouted, “Shela! Don’t be foolish!”

As if Shela would really hurt herself to bits, she slowed down on purpose, giving enough time for Elgin

to grab her and pull her husk Struggling, she cried out, “Let go of me, Mr. Ramirez, I’m such a failure,

couldn’t even protect my child, can’t even get revenge. It’s clearly Letitia’s fault, and she’s turning it

around on me…”

Elgin held her down, his gaze cold as he looked at Letitia, “Who said you can’t get revenge?”

“Mr Ramirez..”

“Whatever you want done to Letitia, that’s what she’ll have to face. She owes you that.”

A flicker of triumph crossed Shela’s eyes. That’s what she wanted!

If she couldn’t off Letitia’s baby, she’d torture her, bide her time for the next strike!

‘She has to repent, atone, and apologize for my child’s death,” Shela declared. “She caused all this,

she’s gotta pay the price!”

Seeing this, Mark quickly agreed, “Right’ Letitia, get on your knees and beg for forgiveness!”

“On my knees? To you?” Letitia let out a scornful laugh, “In your dreams!”

Yet Mark was already on her, pushing down on her shoulders, “Do it! Kneel until Shela forgives you!”

“Get off me!”

“You’re challenging me? Mark retorted, “Haven’t you brought enough disaster upon us? It’s the least

you can do!”

He forced Letitia to kneel, but she stood ramrod straight, not bending an inch, resisting him with all her

might. She didn’t need anyone’s approval, had done no wrong, harbored no malice, and she sure as

hell wouldn’t kneel!

Kneeling would mean admitting she was responsible for Shela’s baby!

“Well, well, you’ve got some strength, Mark kicked at her knee, “I don’t believe you can keep standing

forever!”

Letitia was stubborn as they come. No matter what Mark tried, she stayed on her feet.

And all the while, she kept her eyes on Elgin.

“Trying to break me? Letitia said with a light laugh, “Right in front of you all, I’ll make it crystal clear

today, I never intend to hurt anyone, and I didn’t cause Shela’s baby’s death!”

Mark was fuming, “Shut your trap and get on your knees!”

As he tried to kick her again, Elgin stepped in, “Back off.”

“Mr. Ramirez, but…

Elgin walked over to Letitia and looked down at her defiant stance.

Ever since he’d known her, she’d been this stubborn.

Even now, after going through so much, no matter what happened, she hadn’t changed a bit.

Sometimes he’d think, if only Letitia could be a bit more compliant, a little more docile, she could’ve

saved herself a lot of grief.

But no, she just wouldn’t have it

“Did you forget my warning? Any harm to the kid, and the Sanders family would pay with their lives?”

Elgin raised an eyebrow, “So, is the entire Sanders clan stepping up, or are you going to shoulder the

consequences alone?”
