Bang!

As Vernon elbowed the person on his left, he struck a full-force uppercut to the man in front of him.

The might of the fist sent the man flying several meters away, and as for the man who was elbowed, he vomited a mouthful amount of blood, as he staggered backward.

The attack sent the blood of the people boiling, they glared at Vernon viciously, and as one figure spoke, the others attacked.

"Kill him!"

It was merely a few words, but once it rang through the ears of the people in the tavern, they unleashed their strongest move on Vernon.

They completely ignored the fact they were in close distance from one another, and once they moved at Vernon it was at full force.

"Tsukoyomi."

Before any of the attacks would make contact with a layer of his body, Vernon's voice rang out.

As Vernon was able to make eye contact with each one of the people in the tavern, they were oblivious to what he was up to, and after he uttered those words, everyone emerged in a blood-moon world.

A sneer was soon to appear on Vernon's face as he stared at each one of them.

They were all nailed to a cross, with blood oozing out of their body. It was really a devastating scene to behold.

"Welcome to my world," Vernon spoke.

There was a frightening level of power that he possessed that Vernon believed only a handful of people could escape from his grasp once they were trapped in his world.

Even though they existed SS-Rank metahuman in the tavern, Vernon was confident that he caught them by surprise, and before they would be able to fend off the attack, he would have gotten what he wanted.

"We can do this the easy and the hard way as well." Said, Vernon. "I mean I can drain the answer out of you, kill you in the process, if it pleases me.

"Or you can choose to tell me what I want, then we get on with our lives."

Vernon looked at the people nailed to the cross and even though their expressions pretty much remained the same, he smirked.

It was only a matter of time before they experienced what purgatory felt like.

"Where is the egg of Cleopatra?" Suddenly, Vernon inquired with his voice becoming very cold.

The question asked caused those in the surroundings to stare at the person close to them, before moving their gaze to Vernon.

As Vernon then saw the stubborn look in their eyes, he waved his hand and thousands of battle spears hovered in front and behind him.

There was absolutely no doubt that, with only a thought or command, and the spears were going to charge at the people in front.

However, despite the emergence of the spears, there wasn't a change in the expressions of the people in front of Vernon. Everyone nailed to the cross still remained unfazed before Vernon.

It was as though they would rather be hacked to death by thousands of spears than to tell Vernon the location of the egg of Cleopatra.

Upon their look, Vernon's lips curl into a frown. He folded his hand across his chest, and with a slight nod, he sent the spears charging at the people in front of him.

XIU!

Followed by the sound of spears moving rapidly, came that of it penetrating deeply into its target body.

The spears fully embedded themselves into the body of their target, covering the majority of their body. And even after it had appeared at the other end, the spears continued to drill it way deeper.

"Pteeeuh!"

Blood splattered out of their mouths as the spears delivered crucial damage to their bodies.

Vernon, however, didn't seem to be satisfied with the damage he had caused. He could still see the stubbornness and unwillingness in the eyes of the people in front of him.

Even though they were covered in blood, they still remained firm that they weren't going to reveal the location of the egg of Cleopatra.

"Where is the egg?" As Vernon asked again, they proved that he was right about them, and instead of responding to him, some even went as to spit on the ground.

"Very good!" Vernon stated.

"I will break the answer out of you then." With that said, and Vernon clapped his hands together.

A pot of flames suddenly hovered on top of the people on the cross. The pot was titled slightly, displaying that it was going to fall anytime soon.

And as the people above the pot flames witnessed the insanity Vernon was about to call upon, there was a slight change in the expressions of a couple of them.

"Don't worry, I won't kill you just yet," Vernon said.

He waved his hand, and as if following his command, the flames in the pot swept through the body of the person below them.

There was a breakdown as the flames made contact with each of their bodies, and if there had been a slight change in their expression earlier, there was a significant one this time around.

And as Vernon watched as skins peeled out of their bodies, and their bodies were set ablaze, his lips curled inwardly.

"Hehe," He chuckled afterward.

When it came to torture, and breaking people apart in the blood moon world, Vernon was filled with all sorts of ideas on how to make it possible.

Vernon was about to implement another weapon when a voice suddenly rang out in the surrounding.

"So young yet so ruthless and void of emotion. I really don't know whether to be pleased with this or be disappointed with what the world is creating."

Accompanied by that cold voice was a surge in the aura around Vernon and those nailed to the cross.

Vernon was forced to stagger a few steps backward before he was able to stand firm. However, even as he was on his feet comfortably, he had a stern look on.

The aura was no trivial one… And the person who was capable of letting that aura here, especially in the blood moon world, was no ordinary person.

"Who are you?" Vernon asked.

There was rage written all over his face, and a few seconds after the aura struck him, the people who were nailed to the cross vanished from the world.

"Who I am is of no importance, as you said. What matters is what I want." The cold voice resounded in the surrounding.

Vernon sneered, as he heard his own words being used against him. He then smiled, "Since you were able to step into this place, I believe you already have something planned."

"Why don't you come on out, I'm really interested in seeing who you are," Vernon said with a smirk on his face.

"Haha! Interesting. You must be really confident in that illusion ability of yours. But let's see if you can trap me in another illusion while being in one already."
