“You are my mother.” Mandel’s furry head was buried in Savanna’s arms, and Mandel’s voice was full of nasal sounds.

“I will always be your mother and this home will always be your home. We welcome you to come back at any time.”

Tye looked at Mandel and Savanna hugging each other. Tears fell down Tye’s cheeks, and Tye’s eyes were also red.

An hour passed.

The doorbell rang.

It was Tyrell.

Lizeth went to open the door and let Tyrell in, who was tall and in black.

“I’m here to pick up the child.” Tyrell seemed to be much more reserved, not arrogant as Tyrell usually

was.

Tyrell repeated, “I’m here to take Mandel home.”

Savanna asked Lizeth to hand Tyrell the packed suitcase. Savanna said, “There are some of Mandel’s

clothes here, and the toys Mandel likes to play with. You must take good care of Mandel.”

“Don’t worry, I will take good care of Mandel,” Tyrell took the box and said with a serious expression.

“I hope you do what you say,” Savanna looked deeply at Mandel and then said with great reluctance, “Take Mandel.”

“Mandel, come home with me.” Tyrell used his empty hand to hold Mandel.

Unexpectedly, Tyrell grabbed nothing. Mandel dodged.

Mandel took a step back and pursed his lips. Mandel

said, “I want to ask. Why do you only come to pick me up now?” he asked.

Tyrell froze when he heard that. It instantly became awkward for everyone.

That caught Tyrell off guard. How should Tyrell answer this question?

Tyrell hesitated for a few seconds and said, “Because of some special things, and I didn’t know that you existed, so I missed you for so many years.”

Mandel was skeptical of Tyrell’s words.

“I’ll go with you.” Mandel took a step forward and stood next to Tyrell.

A smile finally showed up on Tyrell’s tense face. Tyrell said gently to Mandel, “Say goodbye to Savanna.”

Mandel frowned and muttered unhappily, “I’m going with you because my father is sick. Savanna is now pregnant with a sister, so she can’t take care of

us.”

Mandel’s words made Savanna feel bad. It hurt so much that Savanna could not breathe. “Mandel…”

How can Mandel be so sensible?

“Savanna, you must remember to miss me.” Mandel buried his head in Savanna’s neck.

Mandel almost begged, “Don’t forget me.”

Savanna nodded and said, “No, I won’t.”

Mandel did not look back. Mandel got into the car with Tyrell. Tyrell drove away. Lizeth held Tye’s hand and chased after them all the way until the car was completely gone. Then the two of them stopped.

Savanna stood at the door of the house and watched the car go away. Tears fell from the corners of her eyes.

Savanna returned after going to work for half a day, because Lizeth said that after Mandel left, Tye was in a bad mood. Tye shut himself in the room, did not speak, and did not eat.

Savanna was afraid that something might happen to Tye and rushed back from the company.

Not wanting Tye to be so conflicted, Savanna suggested, “Tye, let’s go to the park to feed the pigeons and relax, okay?”

Tye nodded. Tye, Savanna, and Lizeth went to the park together.

The meadow was like a carpet. When one walked on it, it felt soft and fluffy. Gray and white pigeons were flying in midair.

Lizeth went to buy a bag of bread crumbs and carefully protected Tye when Lizbeth took Tye to try to feed the pigeons.

Savanna saw that the two of them were having a great time, and her agitated mood was gone.

The three of them played in the park for the whole morning. Tye was exhausted and fell asleep in the

car on the way home.

Back at home, Savanna asked Lizeth to take Tye back to the room to sleep.

The huge living room was so quiet that one could

hear a pin drop.

Yesterday, Brandon could move his fingers. Because of that, Savanna was so excited that she could not sleep well last night. Savanna went to the garage to pick up a car and drove to the hospital.

In the ward, Brandon lay on the bed, still motionless. And Brandon’s skin looked pale and almost transparent.

Savanna sat down on the stool beside the bed and reached out to hold Brandon’s large palm. Her fingertips gently stroked his palm.

“Brandon, Mandel left. Tyrell took him. I hope you wake up. Don’t blame me. He … might be better with

Tyrell.”

Thinking of how Mandel was when he left, Savanna had a lump in her throat.

Savanna hadn’t slept well the night before. In addition, it was easy to get sleepy during the pregnancy. Savanna leaned on the bed and fell asleep.
