Chapter 183

Brandon‘s lips trembled violently. In the rain, he watched Savanna fade out of his world.

He stretched his fingers and grabbed only the cold rain and air.

Brandon got into the car, lit a cigarette, and looked at the pouring rain outside the

window.

He recalled the past when Savanna looked at him with a pair of infatuated eyes. Those passionate and

expectant eyes would no longer be his again.

Brandon felt a numbing pain in his heart.

Brandon put out the cigarette, started the car, and drove into the rain.

“Bang!” A

flurry of shattering sounds came! The glass shattered on the ground, and a few pieces splashed over, s

cratching the corner of Brandon‘s eyes.

Brandon got out of the car and looked at the tall man in front of him. The hostility between the man‘s br

ows leaked out as if he wanted to skin Brandon alive.

Another big red Bentley came through the rain and stopped beside them. Ben ran out of the car.

He rushed in front of Bob and grabbed his collar. He shouted angrily, “Bob, Brandon won‘t do anything l

ike that. Calm down.”

Bob didn‘t even look at Ben as he stared at Brandon with his cold eyes.

Brandon furrowed his brows and walked towards Bob, saying, “What‘s the matter?”

The light in Bob‘s eyes shattered into hatred, and he swung his fist toward Brandon.

Ben caught Bob‘s fist, shocked, anxious, and angry. He said, “Bob, I think you are crazy.”

“Let go of me,”

Bob roared.

His eyes were blood red.

Ben would not let

go of Bob. He shouted eagerly, “Bob, we have sworn to be brothers. We‘ll share our troubles and fortun

e together. I trust Brandon. He‘s definitely not that kind of person.”

Bob withdrew his gaze

from Brandon‘s face and fixed it on Ben. He said, “I trusted him too much, but he tricked me in the end.

I was really blind. How could I treat the cold–faced Mr. Cassel as a brother?”

Without waiting for Ben to respond, Bob added, “You have been friends with him for so many years. Th

e relationship between you and him is naturally closer than that between you

and me. Ben, I warn you, if you don‘t get out of my way, our friendship will end here today.”

Ben was anxious. Anger smoldered in his eyes. He said, “What are you talking about? Right now, I trea

t both of you as my brothers. Bob, your words hurt my heart.”

Brandon got the faint

feeling that things were getting worse. He moved his lips and . said, “What exactly happened?”

“Stop pretending.” Bob‘s roar was earth–

shaking. He broke free from Ben and smashed his fist into the electric pole. Blood

fell from his fingertips, washed to the ground by the rain, and then flowed into the pothole.

Brandon had never seen Bob like this. It was as if Bob wanted to cut Brandon into a thousand pieces.

Brandon walked forward and wanted to say something, but was pushed away by Bob. Bob pushed so h

ard that Brandon fell to the ground.

Before he could get up, Bob roared and drove the car away in the rain.

The rain washed over Brandon‘s face. His long eyelashes were stuck together, and he could not open

his eyes. He could only squint his eyes. There was a coldness in his eyes.

“Brandon,” Ben helped him up. Seeing that Brandon‘s face was shrouded in a haze of fear, Ben quickly

explained, “Something happened to the Dawson family.”

“What happened?”

Seeing that Brandon really didn‘t know, Ben slowly opened his mouth and said, “The funds can‘t be

recovered. Dawson Investment Bank has fallen completely this time. The news has it

that Sam couldn‘t take the blow and died of cerebral infarction. Bob‘s mother also killed herself to follow

her husband. The Dawson family is over.”

It was understandable that Bob blamed Brandon for this.

Brandon‘s cold face tensed up a bit.

Ben carefully added, “Bob suspects that you are the one behind

the scenes because that group of people was hired by you.”

Brandon sneered and asked, “The people I hired must listen to me?”

What kind of logic was this?

Ben replied, “Not only did you hire those people, but all the private accounts were directed to the Casse

l Group. Besides, Bob found out that the Cassel Group had received several bills yesterday, which com

e from the Dawson Group‘s account.”

Brandon frowned. He immediately went back to the company and asked Jim to check

the bill.

Jim checked it many times and finally answered, “Mr. Cassel, other than the 75 million dollars from

Ms. Thompson‘s account, there was no other income yesterday.”

Brandon‘s face darkened.

He said, “Check all of Savanna‘s accounts immediately.”

Jim hacked into Savanna‘s accounts with his

hands shaking and found that those accounts were not under Savanna‘s ID.

Jim checked the source of the accounts.

He found that the account that transferred the money to Savanna was Lucas‘, and all

the money was transferred to L&S Limited by the Dawson Group.

Jim immediately told Brandon the truth.

Brandon left for L&S Limited to look for Lucas.

He asked Lucas, “Is the money you gave Savanna from the Dawson Group?”

Lucas was stunned. He suppressed the panic in his heart and said, “Savanna said she needed some m

oney for an urgent matter. I have business dealings with Sam. Coincidentally, Sam transferred some m

oney over two days ago, so I gave the money to Savanna. What‘s wrong, Brandon?”

“What kind of cooperation do you have with the Dawson Group?”

Knowing that Brandon had come with ill intentions, Lucas kept an eye out and said, “Brandon, this is a

secret. I can‘t tell you.”

Now that companies with any bit of legal consciousness would sign a confidentiality agreement

before the cooperation.

Brandon could understand that Lucas didn‘t tell him.

Brandon‘s indifferent tone was deadly dangerous. He said, “If anything happens to Savanna, you will b

e the first to suffer.”

Brandon flung the door and left.

Lucas looked at the door and smashed the phone in his hand. He was so angry that he trembled. He th

ought, Brandon is threatening me!

Now, he acts as if he treats her like a treasure. But five years ago, he abandoned her.

Because of what happened between the elders of the two families, the Davis family had

been suppressed by Brandon all the time.

If it weren‘t because he was afraid of Brandon, the Davis family wouldn‘t have to struggle for survival in

the cracks. Lucas was determined that he would

get even with Brandon after the Davis Group was fully developed.

Lucas took a deep breath, made his messy hair lie flat, and bent down to pick up the phone.

After learning the whole story, Ben went to Bob to explain. But Bob did not see him at all.

Ben didn‘t know what to do and came to find Brandon.

“Brandon, I already know what happened. It should be Lucas‘s trick. Savanna probably doesn‘t know it.

”

Ben wanted to comfort Brandon.

No one could stand to be framed up by the person he cared about the most.

Brandon was sitting in a chair, looking dispirited. His lips were colorless, and his eyes darkened.

Seeing him like this, Brandon was heartbroken. He said, “Brandon, I believe that Savanna won‘t do that

to us.”

Ben‘s words could not comfort Brandon‘s broken heart.

On the surface, Savanna was returning the money he used to buy the Thompson Group and to draw a

line with him, but in reality, she was using him to defeat the Dawson Group.

She could also drive a wedge between him and Bob.

Brandon thought that Savanna was vicious and ruthless.

Bob‘s family was destroyed, and this debt would be blamed on Brandon.

Bob and Brandon would no longer be friends.
