Chapter 717: Reorganize

"I have some questions. As long as you answer me truthfully, I'll let you alive." Charles said coldly.

"Yes, My Lord." Keaton didn't dare to look up and see his face and kept kneeling.

"Why did the Truelords kill Harry Nightwind?" Charles asked.

"Who is it, My Lord? I don't even know such a person existed." Keaton instantly answered and slowly looked up.

'W-Why is he asking me this question? D-Did he also know the truth of our race like Harry? No good, I need to warn Founder Joe!'

Meanwhile, Charles squatted down and looked at him with a cold smile.

"You see, I also entered the Star Tombs two months ago and coincidentally met with the members of the Truelords. And thanks to their open mindedness, I overheard a conversation between Alistair and Nyx." Just as Charles spoke, Keaton widened his eyes and soon blurted out.

"You've met Alistair? H-How is he, My Lord? Is he still alive?"

'How did he know Alistair?' Confusion appeared on Keaton's face.

"Oh? So you are the brother he mentioned when he was talking with Nyx. But Nyx said something else too. What was it again? Ah, he said that the one who ordered the assassination of Harry was none other than his brother. Can you please explain why he said those words?"

Keaton was about to deny it, but Charles added a single word.

"Derios."

Keaton's whole body stiffened up.

It was due to the exposure of the Truelords Family's secret and the impending danger.

Instinctively, he released a sudden bust of ice elemental energy and tried to cast an Ice shield spell.

"Hey, did I give you permission to act on your own?" Charles asked as an illusionary 'Crimson Eye' appeared on his forehead, releasing a ray of pure chaos fire.

Before Keaton's shield spell could manifest, the chaotic fire ray passed through the gap, directly landed on his forehead, and disintegrated his head into pure ashes!

"What the f*ck is wrong with these morons? Just to hide their racial identity, they even go to such lengths to kill someone." Charles glared at the remains of Keaton and slowly turned his gaze towards Patriarch Diego.

"On the other hand, you guys are even worst. If not for Runeth telling me to hold myself back and also having the same family name as you guys, I might have razed this whole mansion to the ground." Charles spoke as he started walking to Diego and unsheathed the long sword.

"Not only did you not hesitate to kill your own family member but you even tried to wipe out my Mother's Raven Family by placing a Dream curse on everyone. From today onwards, you are no longer the Patriarch of Nightwind Family."

Then, he made a swift slash and cut down both his hands into countless pieces.

"Arghhh!" Diego screamed in pain, but Charles didn't stop as he moved his sword again and cut down his legs, too!

"Humph, cowardly bastard. Be a cripple for the rest of your life and atone for your sins." He ordered.

"NOO!!!! Help!! Somebody!!!"

As Patriarch Diego was screaming and crawling on the floor, Charles turned his attention towards the bald Elder Michael.

"I know you hate me for killing your two sons. But they and you are the one to be blamed for becoming the puppets of Truelords." Charles paused as he stared deep into his bloodshot eyes and made a swift slash at his neck.

"If I leave you alone, I can tell that you might do something reckless and trouble me in the future. So, f*ck off to the underworld."

In a blink, Elder Michael felt his whole surroundings were turning upside down and soon felt darkness invading his vision.

He died before he could even understand the situation.

Charles quietly turned his attention towards the last Elder without minding the dancing corpse.

"Kyle, you are the only one who barely did anything to anyone. You neither helped anyone nor did harm them. What should I do with you?"

The old man trembled as he couldn't withstand the pressure from Charles and soon fell to his knees.

"Have mercy on this poor old man, Your Excellency!"

"I feel like a villain for making the elders beg for life. Is it? But if I kill you now, this whole Household might end up getting destroyed by others." Charles pondered for a moment and soon came up with an idea.

"I give you one year time, Kyle. In that short span of time, you must gather everyone from the Nightwind Family and go to the Iron Kingdom. That way I will have an easier time watching over this guy." Charles said as he glared at Diego.

"Also, the young children from Nightwind family should be sent to the Rebirth Tower and study there for ten years of time. Whether they become a powerful mystic or remain as mortal, it's totally up to the kids to decide. And only those who are appointed by Iron Kingdom's Queen will become the Patriarch in the future. That's all I can do for this family."

Suddenly, he recalled something, looked at Diego, and asked.

"Do you know where my grandparents are? I mean my paternal grandparents. From what I've heard from Eve, they are the ones who helped her to escape from the Nightwind Family, right?"

Diego's face turned pale as soon as he heard those words.

He didn't even dare to look at him and lowered his head.

Meanwhile, Charles vaguely understood the situation as he looked into the records with the help of Genesis and heaved a deep sigh.

"Heh, they were executed in the name of treason for helping a traitor of the family, huh? Tsk, should I have razed the whole mansion?"

"P-Please! Have mercy on me, Charles!" Patriarch Diego couldn't hold it anymore and fawned on the floor by banging his head.

"Pathetic!" Charles kicked him on the chest and turned his attention towards Kyle.

"Put him in the prison cell and lock him up for the rest of the life. Give him the worst food only once per day and never let anyone talk to him. I want him to live until the end of his lifespan only by starving and loneliness."

"I'll do as you say, Your Excellency!" Elder Kyle said with a bow.

"Hmm, now my worry is what to do with the current situation." Charles pondered for a moment and sent out another order to Kyle.

"From now onwards, no one should be leaving or entering the mansion until tomorrow morning. Ah, if my grandfather Oswald comes back with the Lightning Mage Rachel, let them in."

Saying so, he enveloped his body in a crimson flame and disappeared from there, leaving the whole main hall in utter silence.

Nobody dared to move a muscle for the next few minutes and silently looked at each other.

...

On the other hand, Charles reappeared on the terrace of the mansion building and stood right beside Runeth.

"My job here is almost done, old man. We can leave as long as you take care of the business in the Ancestral Hall." Charles said as he looked at the faraway golden palace.

"Almost over? There is still a job left for you to do?" Runeth asked as he slowly hovered in the air and started to descend from the terrace.

"Yes, I want to do some investigation on that Ringer's Demiplane. You should've known about it, right? This whole mess happened mainly because of that place." Charles also released his wisdom power, slowly ascended in the air, and followed him.

"Oh? Then, our destination is the same. I sealed my Spell Matrix crystal in that dimension only." Runeth said as he stepped on the smooth grass and looked at the crowd at the mansion's entrance. Most of them were members of branch families, guards, and servants.

"Wait... Are you the one who made that array circle to seal off the entrance to the Ringer's Dimension?" Charles asked with a frown.

"Of course I am. That dimension is a Demiplane used for planar travels by Eddie and his friends. But when Eddie entered a Plane called 'Fallen World,' he met the 'World Devourer.' That bastard already knew the danger ahead but wanted to look into it to satisfy his curiosity. Although I tried my best to save him, he sacrificed himself and opened up a small gap for me to escape. After I returned to the Ringer's Demiplane, I managed to severe the Portal link between the Fallen World and the 'Ringer's Demiplane' and even decided to seal the entrance to the Edhen World. So, how come did you know about this place?" Runeth asked.

"It's a long story." Charles took a deep breath and told about all the schemes running within the Nightwind Family.

"Hoo! That Diego sure is a cowardly bastard. When Eddie became a Legend, he always talks to him with flattery and even used him to gain the title of 'Duke' in this Kingdom. Although the Nightwind Family got demoted to Margrave in the last few hundred years, I always thought Diego only has greed for money and title. So, he was trying to get Eddie's items from the Ringer's Demiplane, huh? Unfortunately, Eddie died in that unknown foreign plane without leaving anything behind." Runeth said with a trace of disappointment.
